Who are we?

The Victims Counselling and Support Service (VCSS) commenced in Queensland in June 2004 to provide a 24 hour telephone based information and referral service including a range of counselling and support services for people whose lives have been impacted by crime.

The main focus of the Victims Counselling and Support Service is to assist people who have experienced the intense disruption of being affected by crime and to manage the situation as best they can and to provide them with resources to assist them to resume their lives.

The service provides information and referral to other support services, as well as offering counselling to those affected by crime either directly or indirectly which includes family and friends, and witnesses.

The Victims Counselling and Support Service (VCSS) can be contacted throughout Queensland on 1300 139 703. This contact number is available 24 hours a day for information, referral and counselling appointments.

The Victims Counselling and Support Services (VCSS) is funded by the Department of Justice and Attorney-General, Queensland Government and is managed by Relationships Australia (QLD).
